Now What?
Thin Ice is live, now what?
Now that the ink is dry, the confetti is mashed into the carpet, and Thin Ice has been released into the world, it begs the ever-looming question: what’s next?
The “next” in this case is the subsequent novel in the Scales & Skin series. Dry Ice will be set in Iceland where Glacia and her crew meet up with a flock of Siren Sea Birds. The rough draft is approximately half done, after which it will go through a first round review with my editor. Though I don’t have a firm launch date for Dry Ice yet, I can tell you there will be plenty of romance and surprises when it’s complete.
What can I do in the meantime?
While I’m busily writing the next novel in the Scales & Skin series, there are lots of ways to stay engaged with the Merworld and support Emme’s authorly adventure.
- Post a review. One of the best things you can do to support new authors and small publishers alike is post an honest review after you’ve read a novel. Reviews help elevate a novel when people search for a new book. At the same time, reviews inform potential readers about whether they might like the story. By leaving a review, you’re helping the author promote their work and ensuring the right readers pick up the novel. Amazon and Goodreads are two great places to post, though any online platform of your preference is awesome.
- Share the sample chapters. If you have a friend who might enjoy a romantasy adventure, share the sample chapters of Thin Ice. In this free excerpt, Glacia gives enough of a preview to help your friend decide whether this novel is one they want to binge or add to the TBR list.
- Check out Merworld merch. Swim on over to our Merworld merchandise store. You’ll find free stuff, “Oh. My. Goddess.” tees, “No Flipping Way” mugs, and more.
- Support other indie authors. Last, but not least, while I’m plotting the next fantastical mermaid adventure, support other indie authors by checking out their work. Local bookstores and author fairs are a great way to support your community. If you need recommendations, let me know.
