If you’re here, you’ve heard the big news that my latest novel, Thin Ice, is ready to hit the shelves. As part of the authorly launch process, I’m recruiting volunteers to help with the go-live by reading and reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of my novel. If you like fantasy novels full of mystery, adventure, and romance, I invite you to participate. In this article you’ll find details about the Thin Ice review team, how to sign up, and FAQs.

2025, Upcoming Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) details:

• The novel: Thin Ice is a romantasy and action novel set in the modern day with the following themes: fantasy, paranormal romance (mermaids), forbidden love, love triangle, soulmates, dystopian, magical creatures, high stakes, anti-heroines, not always a happily ever after ending…. • Sign up: Open now. Private message me or send me an email, and I’ll add you to the list.
• e-Copy ready: Thursday, April 10. You’ll receive the e-copy of Thin Ice to download.
• Read and collect your thoughts: April 10 to May 15 is your time to kick back, read, and relax. Binge the novel in one weekend or take the full 5 weeks to enjoy.
• Launch day: Thursday, May 15. Thin Ice will be live! You can post your review this day.

ARC Frequently Asked Questions

What does an ARC participant do?

• The ARC task is simple: You will receive a free e-copy of Thin Ice prior to the novel’s official launch date. You can read the novel on a kindle, laptop, phone, or electronic reading device of your choice. After you’re done reading, I ask that you leave an honest review of my work on the online platform(s) of your choice (Amazon, GoodReads, etc.)

How does this process help authors?

• Advanced reviews are an important part of an author’s success. Reviews help elevate a novel when people search for a new book. At the same time, reviews inform potential readers about whether they might like the story. By leaving a review, you’re helping the author promote their work and ensuring the right readers pick up the novel.

How much time does it take?

• You will receive your e-copy 5 weeks prior to the go-live date. See the above ARC details for Thin Ice specific dates.
• The goal is to give you plenty of time to read at a pace that is comfortable and fits your schedule. Thin Ice is ~40 chapters, approximately 85K words – within the range of a standard urban fantasy or romance novel. Some readers binge a novel that size in one weekend. Others take several weeks to complete. The choice is yours.

Does the ARC crew have a secret handshake or code name?

• No code name yet, though I’m open to suggestions. As far as a handshake, let’s start with a pinky hug… You’ll learn why in the novel 😊
