Dry Ice – Which Characters Made the Cut?

If you follow the Scales & Skin series you know the novel, Thin Ice, is told from the perspective of our favorite heroine, mermaid Glacia Andraste. Glacia is brave, full of heart and a little sass. Her open-mindedness and sense of duty, drive our protagonist into messy and dangerous situations. Through it all, Glacia remains resolute and stops at nothing to protect those she loves.
Readers love the Merworld’s leading voice, and Glacia plans to stick around through the series. At the same time, Thin Ice introduced a whole new cast of vibrant, opiniated characters who jump off the page. These fantastic humans and mercreatures are primed and ready for action with their own motives and goals.
The next novel in the series, Dry Ice, shares a romantasy adventure through the eyes of multiple cast members. Yes, you heard that right: Dry Ice is written from multiple perspectives or points of view (POVs).
By now, two things are likely going through your head.

Now, keeping readers in suspense is sort of what I do. It’s my pleasure to drive you a little mad with frustration until the final chapters of a story. But, I also adore you readers and am too excited to keep everything to myself.

- Glacia: Obviously. Our leading lady from Thin Ice takes front and center stage in both the romance and action storylines in Dry Ice. There will be no shortage of snark, heart, and tail-kicking from our fave mermaid.
- Felix: Whaaat? That jerk made it into the next book? With his own chapters? Yes, and fun fact – he’s not a complete jerk. Once you get inside his head, you start to figure him out.
- Joren: Oooh, I sense romantic drama. Correct, because what kind of love triangle would it be if there weren’t multiple hotties to choose from.
- Reya: Yes! This fun, sassy mermaid gets a main role in Dry Ice. Not only will she pump up the volume, she’ll also give you a glimpse into her past.
Not to worry, other characters from Thin Ice are interlaced throughout the story. Yes, including Tucker, because see above love triangle comments. Also yes, including Colbert for my quiet-and-brooding friends. The main four characters listed above were selected as the voices to best shine light on their friends, lovers, and colleagues with their own unique pizzaz.
